Hi peepz!
So, I might've mentioned in my last post, I might've not, but the thing is, I just got back from my first real MUN conference!
I tell you! It was awesome! We were 6 people representing The Oriental Republic of Uruguay on behalf of currently occurring world crisis. (We had to discuss ensuring the enforcement of human basic rights in Tibet, etc.)
So the conference was called EGMUN. It is annual and there were people from Turkey, Germany, Ireland and Mauritius. I sure met a lot of people, and gosh, they were soooooo nice! :-D
Anyway, we had to be away for 5 days. I can assure you that we had to talk about politics and world crisis from 9-17 everyday! NO TIME TO RELAX. Except late nights, where most of us ate candy and chips and drank sodas, while doing our homework.
I was actually not supposed to go, but then a girl couldn't go for a reason, so when my teacher asked me, I said YES. I didn't regret it.
I can happily say now, that I have gained a lot of knowledge in just 5 days. I now love politics even more, so much that I trying to find a small committee of young UN delegates around my city to join. I follow news much more - not that I didn't do it before, of course I did, but now EVERYTHING catches my interest. I can now be happy, that I have developed a so called "Political Jargon" - Formal Register. IT'S THE BEST.
EXPERIENCE. FUN.
Cheers xo
